Quick Answer

KOTAMON has 7 audiotapes. Find 1 for Push the Tempo!, 5 for Retro Party and all 7 for Melomaniac. The current completion blocker is 6/7 cassette tapes, so preserve your save and verify the last pickup state before assuming the file is broken.

What Are Audiotapes?

Audiotapes are collectible finds tied to music-themed Steam achievements.

Achievement Milestones

1 audiotape: Push the Tempo! 5: Retro Party. 7: Melomaniac.

Before Resetting a Trash Pile

Pick up visible audiotapes, figurines, cosplay cases, cereal boxes and other unusual valuables before generating a new pile or heavily moving nearby clutter. Do not leave a suspicious cassette loose while testing a reset or reroll.

Stuck at 6/7 Audiotapes?

Do not immediately delete the save or restart after 20 hours of progress. First finish checking the active pile, confirm no loose tape was only seen or moved, verify whether Melomaniac already triggered in Steam, and avoid generating a new pile while an unusual object is still visible.

Last Cassette Troubleshooting

Record the pile state, nearby landmark, save slot, patch date and whether the tape counter changed. If new piles keep producing no tape, test one variable at a time after a backup instead of wiping the whole save folder.

All 7 Tape Checklist

Use the tracker as Tape #1 through Tape #7. The number is a personal route count, not an official location number, so update it only after the pickup is accepted.

How to Record a Tape

Record the tape count, nearby landmark, whether the radio was used recently, and whether the pickup immediately advanced the Steam achievement.

Can’t Find the 7th Audiotape?

If you are at 6/7 tapes, recheck recent pile states, confirm Steam did not already grant Melomaniac, and avoid starting a new pile while a visible tape or unusual object is still loose.

Checklist Advice

Track every tape as found before chasing exact locations, because location data still needs gameplay verification.

Common Miss

Do not count a tape as collected only because it was seen or moved. Count it after the pickup is accepted and the local checklist can be updated.

Promotion Rule

A tape location should be added only after a screenshot or repeated route confirms the same pickup spot on the current build.
